
For the 2013 edition of Vinitaly, the International Wine and Spirits Fair, that each year attracts thousands of visitors from all parts of the world, the Consortium has developed a varied program of activities. Thanks to these activities, the wines of Abruzzo will be protagonists of some special cultural, sociological and photographic meetings. Radio 24 (Sole24Ore) will broadcast its well-known show schedule such as the presentation of the programme "Il Gastronauta" by Davide Paolini live from the stand of the Consortium.
On Monday, April 8, Marco Bolasco, the director of Slow Food will present the latest book by Slow Food entitled “Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, un grande vino” (Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, a good wine). This work will raise the visibility of the most important DOC wine of the Abruzzo Region.
Renato Mannheimer, the well-known pollster will be present during the second day of Vinitaly. He will describe the results of the surveys on the Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, realized by the ISPO, the Institute for Social and Political Opinion Research chaired by him. These surveys will show some changes about the opionin on this wine, that is more and more appreciated and it is considered as an Italian high-quality wine.
In addition to the culture, wine will also meet art. Inside the stand of the Consortium, all the best pictures on the Abruzzo Region taken by Mario Giacomelli will be exhibited for the first time within a thematic exhibition. Mario Giacomelli is a world famous photographer. He is one of the most brilliant photographers of the Italian twentieth century, who has exhibited in the most important museums in the world, including the MOMA in New York.
The exhibition will be introduced by Davide Paolini, journalist at Radio 24 and Il Sole 24 Ore newspaper, who will read also the presentation made exclusively for the Consortium by Germano Celant, a renowned Italian art historian and curator. The exhibition will take place in the tasting room of the stand, thus enhancing the taste experience with an evocative visual story of the territory.
At Vinitaly, the Abruzzo DOC will be the protagonists also in the specialized magazines. The issues of the most important specialized magazines present at the fair, including "Bibenda" and "Gambero Rosso", describe the Abruzzo Region through some extra editions of the specialized magazines.
